Breastfeading mothers who are consuming Codeine can harm the baby
Codeine is a drug element to eliminate the pressure and pain. The newest research carried out in Canada showed that breastfeading mothers who consume drug with containing codeine inside could actually endanger the health of their babies.
This research showed that mothers who have a particular genetis tendency could proceed codeine into morphine more faster than normally. This could endanger central nervous system of breast-fed babies. In some cases, the threat of a morphine overdose can be overcome if the concerned woman stopped the treatment. But not so in women who have a genetic weakness. For them, continuous consumption of codeine and morphine accumulation in the body system of baby can trigger excessive drowsiness, breathing problems, could even end in death.
