You probably already know that the best and safe sleep position for your baby are supine or heeling over. However, it’s not good if your baby’s sleeping in supine constantly. Why like that? Skull/ your baby’s brain pan is still very soft and very easy to change its shape. If you let your baby sleep with a continuous supine position, an then in over time the head shape will look “flat”. Therefore, try to occasionally put your baby lying on stomach!

How it could starts and How long?

This activity can be starts when your baby’s age at 2-3 months, when he was starting to control the motion of his head. Some experts recommend in order that you do to tour baby about 30 minutes each day. No need to direct… just divided a few times a day. See also the condition of your baby before you start lying him on stomach. Make sure he was in calm and if he was upset do not forced!

What is the advantage of this?

Some advantages for lay your baby on stomach occasionaly ocassionally, a.1:

1. Giving an opportunity for the back of the baby’s head to “rest”.

2. Help strebghten the baby’s neck muscles, as a preparation for crawling.

3. Help develop gross motoric skills… Just see, when you are lying down your baby with stomach position, then he would kicked his legs and moving his hands, right?

4. Helps develop soft motoric skills…

5. When lying on stomach, your baby usually will try to grasp and pull your shirt or blanket nearby.

How to do this?

There’s some ways to do this activity:

1. When you are lying down or sitting back, trying to lay flat your baby on your stomach.

2. Spread a thick blanket or mat canvas on the floor and lay flat your baby on stomach up to them.

3. Hold your baby and lying falt him on your arm.

Make this activity fun. Get him talking and joking with him when he’s lying flat on stomach. If he fells asleep with lays flat on stomach, do not leave him alon then, and turn to the supine position while he sleeps.
