Lady Gaga may have only broken into the music scene last year, but her star is rising so fast that she is already crowned the new Princess of Pop.
If you have not heard of Lady Gaga, you have most probably been hiding under a rock somewhere the past year. Her first two singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” made the world sits up and notice her. These singles topped charts all over the world, included the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album The Fame followed, selling more than two million copies worldwide in just a year.
And it is easy to see why? The Fame is an addictive mix of pop, electro-pop, disco and a touch of rock. “The Fame is about how anyone can feel famous”, Lady Gaga explained, “I want people to feel good about themselves, not about me. But listen to my record and feel like bad motherf**kers!”
And this is related to her life philosophy: “The reason to make art is to make beautiful things that will make people feel good about themselves. I guess you could say that I hope to be a pop cultural Robin Hood. I want to make young people feel great.”
